Drones are the latest just produced technology to enter the market. With so many drones entering the market with a myriad of different features knowing which drone to buy can seem a bit daunting. If you will be a first time drone owner perhaps an entry level drone will suit you until your skill set advances and you can progress to a more advanced drone. Below is a guide to assist you in your drone purchase.
What is a drone?
A drone is an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) and are in essence a flying robot. Drones fall into two categories – ready to fly drones come with everything you need to start flying and may need a small amount of assembling. A bind and fly drone comes with everything you need but you need to bind your drone to a controller before you can start flying. General features of drones include GPS navigation, Bluetooth or Wi-Fi and cameras that can take photos and videos.
Why buy a drone?
A drone is the perfect gift for the man who has everything. Especially if he loves the outdoors, adventure, photography or videography or is simply a technology geek. If he already has the remote control car, boat, plane why not add a drone to the collection with the added benefits of take photos and videos.
What do you need your drone to do?
Drones are like any other just produced technology that come onto the market. They come with a multiple features and specifications suitable for different usage. Do you simply what an entry level drone that you use only for flying then there’s no need to purchase a drone with additional features such as cameras.
How long a period and how far do you want your drone to fly? If you’re looking for a drone to fly for extended periods and/or cover a wide area of space then you need to consider motor size, battery length and the length of ground your control can cope with. Will you need a backup battery?
First time drone buyers
Cut your teeth on a drone that’s small and easy to control.
